ALTERNATIVE PROGRAMMING
Medicine Hat Outreach School provides unique learning opportunities for individuals to grow and develop within a diverse, safe, and nurturing environment. Programs offered through alternative programming are as follows:
Young Mom’s Program:
This program is intended for pregnant and parenting high school teens who require additional educational support while pregnant or parenting.
PAS Adolescent Services:
This 6-week program guides junior high and high school students who require professional mental health and academic assistance in a supportive small group environment.
Specialized Programming
The alternative learning team provides consultative and coaching support for students who require individualized/specialized programming and are supported in an inclusive setting. Individuals who require specialized programming supports are working on a modified program to address foundational skills (e.g. functional literacy, numeracy and life skills programming), and whose instruction, content and/or performance criteria are significantly different from the grade-level program of study. The following specialized programming is available at the schools listed below:
Learning Assistance Program (LAP)
Knowledge & Employability (K&E)
